Stakeholders in the project could be persons or institutions that are directly engaged in the project or interested in project's results. Stakeholders may also cause changes and have significant impact on the project's goals or final products. Their influance on the project could be beneficial if their role, demands and expectations are precisely defined. The management team of the project has an important role in this matter and should determine objectives, requirements and share responsibilities of each side in the project. Picture blow demonstrates relationships between every sides of the enterprise: project team and stakeholders.
As you can see from this picture stakeholders have a huge influence on the all project. During the life cycle of the project their level of responsibility and impact may vary, depend on the situation, sponsorship, financial or political contribution. Sometimes stakeholders can have a detrimental influence on goals and final products of the project. This could happen if they disregard their responsibility during the enterprise. The same situation can occur when the managers ignore the stakoholders expectations what could cause a delay in implementation of the project and even in extreme circumstances to failure the all enterprise.
Our advice is that both sides stakeholders as well as the management team must cooperate very closely each other at every stage of the project. All expectations, goals, relations, requirements and responsibilities should also be precisely defined to avoid future problems and meet the assumed project's objectives.
