Management by the project integration

Because there are several questions about management by project integration during PMP® Exam we decided to quickly recap the most important things from this topic.

Different processes that occur in the project group can be coordinated and management within the integration sphere. In our opinion integration is very significant in every project and includes special features, unified actions and consolidate characteristics that can guarantee successful results of the project. Due to integration you can manage and coordinate the project in the easier way. We can define it as a process within you may choose how to plan your work and where to concentrate reserves to achieve the project objectives.

Integration is also essential if you find interactions in the process groups. From our point of view there is no one and simple way for project management. It depends on the situation and project specification what kind of processes, skills, abilities you should apply.

We may notice that the integration role is well visible in all spheres and activities of the project like:

  • preparation of necessary documentations and plans,
  • definition the special requirements and needs for the project,
  • using appropriate information in the project management,
  • construction the structure of the enterprise,
  • implementation area and putting into practice products or services,
  • controlling process
  • estimation the potential risks and danger.

All in all integration is closely connected with the processes in the process groups that are necessary to achieve project goals according the accepted plan.
